Site FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
As this site's maintainer, I am frequently asked certain questions. If
you're currently feeling the urge to email me regarding this site, please read this FAQ before doing so. It will save both of us some time. Thanks.
Q. Where can I get more info on a certain commercial, TV show, actor, actresses, etc.?
A. Special TV Resources is strictly a link-only site. This
means it provides the links... it's up to you to do the research. I do
not nor have I ever worked in the TV industry, so I don't have this
kind of information. But, an excellent resource is the Internet Movie Database -- they have practically every movie and TV show ever made listed, with at least some information about each.
Q. What if I can't find what I'm looking for? Can I email you then?
A. While I'd love to help you, I really can't. I apologize,
but I get some very obscure questions, such as people trying to locate
a copy of a commercial from 3 decades ago, and I have no clue where
such a thing can be found, if at all. Plus, this site is strictly a
volunteer effort... the only money made is the very little I make from
the ad banners. So, folks, I don't get paid to do this, which means my
time is very limited. I do what I can, but that's not as much as some
would like, I suppose. I apologize if this sounds harsh... it's not meant to be.
Q. Why don't you have a specific actor/actress/show/network/commercial/etc. listed in your site?
A. Well, either there isn't a site about that specific actor,
etc., or I'm not aware of such a site's existence. Please, don't email
me saying I should add a certain thing just because you think it should
be included -- let me know of a site (and its URL) about that
particular topic. That's the only way I can include it.
Q. Do you make the sites listed in this site? Can you make a site about a topic I'm interested in?
A. No and no. This site links to others' sites... I don't
make them, nor do I have any control over their content, whether they
stick around on the Web, etc. And I can't make them, either, because if
I did, I would have to do this 24/7 without sleep, food, etc., just
trying to keep up with all the topics people are interested in.
Q. Why don't some of the links work?
A. Since this site links to hundreds of other Web sites, some
of those links are bound to go bad. I do check them periodically, so
please be patient. Web sites come and go, sometimes going rather
quickly I'm afraid, so it's really impossible to catch every single one
right after the link goes bad.
Q. Can you tell me where I can write to my favorite actor/actress/show/etc.?
A. Nope, sorry. I don't have that sort of information, but I suggest you try the Internet Movie Database . It may or may not have that information.
Q. So, what can I email you for, anyway?
A. You can suggest a site I should link -- if you do so,
please include the address/URL, the title of the
show/actor/actress/etc... be specific, with the exact name, so I can
list it properly. I don't list page titles if those titles are anything
other than the exact name. This is to keep the lists easy to understand
and browse.
Q. Anything else I can email you about?
A. Well, praise is always a nice thing.... :) Seriously, I'm
glad you found this site. I hope you find it useful. And I'm sorry I
can't answer everyone's questions. But, if you keep searching, there
just might be someone out there who can. But, please remember to
respect others' abilities (or lack thereof), and don't ask more of them
then they can give, so to speak.
Thanks for reading the FAQ. Now go out there and watch some TV already.
